For Brides

"Christa was such a pleasure to work with. She advised me to schedule a time the week before the wedding to work with her on figuring out the style I wanted. This was a great idea, because the soft, wavy, retro / romantic style that I wanted was hard to describe. It also gave us a chance to chat and get to know each other.
Then, Christa came to my hotel at 6am sharp on the day of my morning brunch wedding. She brought all of her tools with her and set up shop in our room. She had 4 women to style before our 10AM photo shoot, including my sister who has waist-length blonde hair.

My family commented that Christa was so relaxed, chatty, and fun to be around, even so early in the morning. They really enjoyed her company as she was styling them.

She clearly loves working with women to make them feel special on their big day."

Our goal: no stress for anyone on your wedding day
and we are willing to work with your budget

Hair
-Healthy hair looks best; start with color/conditioning treatments early.
-Coloring can add shine and warmth.
-Highlights should be done 3 months before and again 1-2 weeks prior to your big day.
-If you are choosing a full updo for your special day, your hair should ideally be past your shoulders.
-If you are choosing a partially or completely down hairstyle, your hair should ideally be well past your shoulders with clean, healthy ends. Haircut should be done at least 4 weeks before wedding day.

Coloring
Hair Coloring or highlights sometimes help towards creating that healthy wedding look. If you would like just a shine on your natural hair, you may choose a color similar to your own with a bit of warmth added or even a clean glaze to add shine.
Highlights come in many tones. Light and warm can be very stunning when mixed to give a defined look. Ensure that full head highlights are done well in advance so you may not build up too many roots. Then finally they should be done again one to two week prior to your wedding day.

Trials
At least one trial is required prior to your wedding. The first can be done 5-6 months in advance; this will help and guide you in choosing your hairstyle, managing color, cut, facial waxing, etc. The next needs to be done 4-5 weeks in advance of your wedding day – your tiara and/or veil must be available at this stage. On your trial day, have your accessories available and pictures of your dress so we can choose the right image for you. Trials are complimentary for brides at Composure salon with booking of wedding day.

Choosing a tiara, comb, flowers etc. is a very individual choice but bear in mind of the different types, sizes and widths. At your trial run, this will be needed for a style to be created around it. If you are not quite sure whether it will suit your wedding hairstyle ask to see if you can borrow it for your trial.

Veils
There are different types of veils that you can wear:
  • Full: These will have a few layers and will be fuller at the comb end, and around the face. They are usually placed directly behind your tiara so there will be no sculpting of the hair on top, it will be more to the back of the head.
  • Slim: This usually has two layers and is placed at the crown section, so the hair may be sculptured directly behind your tiara giving some height and can sometimes show off your tiara better.
  • Slimmer: This is usually in one piece and just drops down at the back and is more of a sleeker look. This may be placed either behind the tiara or at the crown of the head.
Your tiara should be available and an idea of the type of veil you will be wearing on the day of your trial.

Bridesmaids
If you are having bridesmaids, it is also important that you make them aware of the required length of hair required if they are having a particular upstyle. It is not always important that each bridesmaid have the exact same hairstyle; their hairs may be finished off using hair accessories, combs or flowers bringing the group together.

At the trial I take photos ensure that we remember your style on the day. Communication is necessary concerning curl strength, height, etc. so we can adjust anything for the day of.

Deposit
There is a $100 nonrefundable deposit required to reserve an appointment, due at time of bridal hair trial which is later applied to the day of balance.
